Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients Announced
Lakeview School District has a proud history of graduates who not only excel academically but also embody deep-rooted community values. This year, the district is proud to recognize several outstanding alumni who have distinguished themselves both professionally and through their commitment to serving others. The 2024 honorees will be celebrated at Spartan Memorial Stadium before the Homecoming game on September 27.

Kelly (Rizor) Desino ‘94 - Distinguished Alumni Award
Kelly pursued her passion for science, sparked during her years at Lakeview, to The University of Michigan, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then to the University of Kansas where she earned her Ph.D. in 2008.
Now the Scientific Director of AbbVie’s (formerly Abbott Labs) Community of Science, Kelly has been recognized for her significant contributions in improving drug development processes through innovative techniques and the integration of artificial intelligence. Beyond her professional life, Kelly actively participates in community initiatives focusing on education, gun safety, and mental health education.
Teri (Christ) Noaeill ‘06 - Outstanding Young Alumni
From her days at Lakeview High School to her roles as Executive Director of What A Do Theatre and Artistic Director of the Community Music School, Teri has been a true advocate for integrating arts into community life. Her leadership has not only influenced thousands of students but has also broadened arts accessibility and fostered early cognitive development through the innovative "Music First" program. Teri’s advocacy extends to promoting inclusivity, spurred by personal experiences through her daughter’s health challenges. Her dedication is evident in every facet of her life, blending her professional endeavors with her personal commitment to arts and community welfare.
Teri shared, "There's so much I could say about how the arts shaped me during my time at Lakeview, but overall I am so grateful for the teachers that motivated me to create, work hard, and be where I am today. Thank you to all my teachers that I have had the privilege of learning from. I will always be grateful to your love, time, and true dedication that you give year after year. Thanks for making me the person that I am."
Charles R. Fulbright III ‘03 - Community Spirit Award
From his high school days, as a member of the Spartanaires show choir and founder of a student group focused on diversity and safety, Charlie has remained a vibrant community advocate. His roles include serving on the Battle Creek Public Schools Board of Education, the Michigan Association of School Boards and leadership with Battle Creek Pride. Professionally, Charlie has been recognized for his service at the Hart-Doyle-Inouye Federal Center and his deployment work in Germany.
Charlie’s commitment extends to his service as a foster parent and active participation in his local church, embodying the spirit of community and advocacy in every aspect of his life. His advocacy work is well-recognized by community leaders and has positioned him as a significant force for positive change in Battle Creek.
