LHS Robotics Earns Top State Award

Congratulations LHS FIRST Robotics Team, Q Branch Robotics, for earning the Michigan State Championship Chairman's Award!

The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST.  It honors the team that best exemplifies the principles of FIRST by making the most measurable impact on their community over the last five years.

Lakeview’s team is one of only five teams in the entire state to earn this recognition and the first team in southwest Michigan to earn this award.  Michigan has 568 teams this year!

Coach John Burdette shared, “We are humbled and honored to be chosen among this elite group.  We are pleased to represent Lakeview, Battle Creek, our parents, and our sponsors in achieving this level of recognition for our outstanding program.”

The team was recognized earlier this year as one of 29 Michigan teams earning the Chairman’s Award for the district event hosted by Lakeview.

First Robotics Chairman’s Awards were created to promote the organization’s goal of “transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.”
