Study Abroad with LHS and New Perspectives Japan

  •

Students who have completed their Japanese study through at least Japanese 3 are eligible to participate in a independent study that includes 15 days of study in Japan during the summer. The trip includes time in both Tokyo and Kyoto, as well as a week in our sister city, Takasaki, where students attend high school and live with a host family.  In 2006 students focused their studies on Japanese History, and in 2008 students focused on Contemporary Japanese Society.  At the completion of their time in Japan students are required to create a final project reflecting their learning.

Students are responsible for the cost of the trip.  Although fundraising is done, it does not cover the full cost of the trip.  This trip is organized through the non-profit organization, New Perspectives Japan.
