In addition to course planning done with all students as a part of our core curriculum, counselors also work to help coordinate academic interventions with some students as needed. Counselors work in cooperation with the intervention coordinator at the high school to identify students who may need more intensive academic supports or interventions. These students are identified through a regular process of gathering data on grades and attendance and typically involves a team meeting to identify challenges and possible solutions, supports, and interventions.
If your student is experiencing academic challenges, please begin by contacting the appropriate teacher(s). If further support is needed, you may contact your student's counselor for referral to the intervention team.
