Andert Family Scholarship
Description
The late Norman J. Andert, a music educator, and Irene E. Andert, a retired healthcare professional, inspired subsequent generations of the Andert family to pursue careers in music, education, healthcare and public service. In their memory and honor, the Andert Family Scholarship provides assistance to students pursuing careers in the fine and healing arts for the betterment of human kind. Applicants must be graduating seniors at Lakeview High School and accepted by a four-year college or university of his/her choice to study the fine arts (e.g., music, performing arts, arts education, theatre, visual arts, film, etc.) or a healthcare field (e.g., medicine, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medical technology, etc.). Students must demonstrate good character, citizenship and leadership.

Barbara, Henrietta, and Jack Curtis Memorial Scholarship
Description
Barbara, Henrietta, and Jack Curtis were long-time residents of the Battle Creek community and supporters of the Lakeview Schools. This scholarship was established in memory of them by their family. Eligible applicants must be a resident of the Lakeview School District in Battle Creek, graduating from Lakeview High School or an area district administering the special education program that the student is attending. Student must be a graduating high school senior who is physically or orthopedically challenged (e.g.: flat feet, autism, asthma, learning disabilities, etc.) and plans to attend a two or four-year college or university or accredited institution for post high school studies. Considerations are: potential for success in higher education, demonstration of being achievement-oriented and wants to achieve independence and an ability to live above the handicap.

Judi Dolezal Memorial Scholarship
Description
This scholarship is given in memory of Judi Dolezal who directed the Student Service Center at Lakeview High School from 1994 to 1998. Judi died of leukemia on June 23, 1999. In her short time at LHS, her infectious laugh and refreshing zest for life were often a brilliant shining light for many students. Judi could see and bring out the good in everyone she worked with. She dearly loved her job and the students at Lakeview High School. Eligible applicants shall be Lakeview High School graduating seniors, a student listener or student senator his/her junior and senior years and display patterns of behavior, citizenship, and attendance worthy of scholarship recognition.

Marie and Frank Eldridge Memorial Scholarship
Description
The Eldridges were active in the Lakeview community, longtime supporters of Lakeview High School and loyal fans of Lakeview Spartan athletic teams. Applicants must be Lakeview High School graduating seniors or past graduates that demonstrate high citizenship; participate in one or more varsity sports, and achieve average or above average academic grades.

Lloyd W. Heselschwerdt Memorial Scholarship
Description
Applicants must be a graduate of Lakeview High School and completed the equivalent of at least 24 credit hours of college classes. Preference may be given to the non-traditional student who has taken time away from college and is now seeking to continue his/her studies. Applicant may be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student or technical school student.

Al Leibert Scholarship
Description
After teaching in the Battle Creek School District, including serving as a Grade Principal at Battle Creek Central High School, Al Leibert became an Assistant Principal at Lakeview High School in 1971. He then served as Principal of Westlake Elementary from 1980 to 1986. After retirement he helped coach girls track and freshmen football for ten years. Scholarship applicants must be graduating seniors of Lakeview High School who will be attending an accredited four-year college or university or a two-year community college, who demonstrates good character and citizenship; GPA of at least 3.0; evidence of participation in extracurricular activities.

Minges Family Scholarship
Description
Frances Minges Delmerico Issac implemented this scholarship in recognition of the 150+ years the family has resided and was active in the Lakeview area. Applicants must be current residents of Lakeview School District graduating from Lakeview High School and who will be attending an accredited four-year college or university or a two-year community college. Considerations are: Demonstrate a potential for success; financial need. Preference may be given to students intending to study music, art, or agriculture.

Marjorie A. Pastor Memorial Scholarship
Description
Marjorie A. Pastor, a graduate of Lakeview High School, was a highly respected and dedicated educator in the public schools. She served many years as chairperson of the English department and also as a high school counselor. Throughout her career, she strived to foster integrity, responsibility, honesty, self-direction and intellectual curiosity. Applicants must be Lakeview High School graduating seniors or graduates of Lakeview High School who exhibit evidence of good character and citizenship, industry and effort; ability as indicated by test data and high school grades; intention to pursue a career in an area of Communications (English, Drama, Journalism, etc.).

Pathways Scholarship
Description
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide funding for individuals who wish to obtain a college education or technical training in the trades, nursing and allied health fields, and certificate degree programs. Applicants must be graduating seniors or graduates of Lakeview Schools, or currently live in Lakeview School District. Considerations are: a combination of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, work history and essay responses. All other considerations equal, financial need may be considered. Applicants are also asked to submit one (1) letter of recommendation from a school official or employer attesting to the applicant's attendance, responsibility, communication skills, cooperation, and service to the community. Previous recipients may reapply.

Reverend George and Jean Seifert Memorial Fund
Description
This scholarship is for a Lakeview High School graduating seniors and graduates, or residents of the Lakeview School District in Battle Creek who plan to attend college, a university, or seminary school or equivalent. Considerations are: demonstration of good character, citizenship, achievement of average or above average grades. Financial need may be considered. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to attend seminary school or equivalent and former recipients may reapply. Candidates are asked to complete a one-page essay and submit a letter of recommendation.

Theodore N. Thomas Memorial Scholarship
Description
Theodore N. Thomas, "Mr. T," was a beloved and respected Principal of Lakeview High School for 32 years and symbolized honesty, responsibility, integrity and the importance of education in and out of the classroom. Eligible applicants are graduating seniors of Lakeview High School who exhibit leadership, perseverance, above average grades, perfect or near-perfect attendance, participation in extracurricular activities and financial need.

Vosburg Scholarship Fund
Description
For Lawrence and Florence Vosburg, teaching was a way to impact lives for generations and they were excellent at it! Their love for being educators was infectious, The Vosburg Scholarship Fund will continue their legacy while emphasizing the importance of education beyond high school by offering scholarships to Lakeview High School graduates who have been accepted or are enrolled in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study. Eligible applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection criteria includes: A combination of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, work history, and essay responses. Description
This scholarship was established in honor of Robert M. Ward after he was named the Michigan High School Principal of the Year in 1990. It will be awarded to graduates or or graduating seniors of Lakeview High School and selection criteria will be based on leadership, scholarship, citizenship, service, industry and effort, integrity and responsibility. Preference may be given to candidates was have lost a parent due to death. The Robert M. Ward Scholarship is non-renewable.How To Apply
