2017 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

  • Blake Birmingham, Wrestling, Class of 2006.  Earned two letters in Wrestling at LHS.  Twice City, Conference, District and Regional Champion.  STATE CHAMPION, 2006.  2nd All-Time in Season Wins, 4th All-Time Career Pins and 5th All-Time Career Wins.  Wrestled one year at Central Michigan and one year at Olivet College.
     
    Donna Bolenz, Softball, Class of 1990.  Earned two varsity letters as a pitcher with a career ERA of 1.21 and a 30-15 record.  Set school records with 323 strikeouts, most games won in a season, most strikeouts in a game / season / career.  Pitched four no-hitters, three one-hitters, and had a .371 Batting Average.  Twice All-City, All-Conference, All-District, All-Region.  Team MVP & Best Competitor.  Pitched a no-hitter with 22 strikeouts in eight innings. Earned four letters at Hope College with a .333 Batting Average and ERA of 2.52.  Named All-American Scholar Athlete in 1991 – 1994
     
    Kyle Labrecque, Wrestling, Class of 2005.  Earned four varsity letters.  Four-Times All-City, Four-Times All-Conference, Three-Times District Champion and Twice Regional Champion.   All-State and Team Captain.  2nd All-Time in Career Wins, 2nd All-Time in Takedowns, 3rd All-Time in 1st Period Takedowns.   4th at MHSAA State Meet as Soph & 6th as a Jr.   4-Year letter winner at Olivet College.   Mid-States All-Conference in 2007 and 2008. Conference Champion, 2008 and Academic All-Conference, 2008.   Regional Runner-Up in 2008.
     
    Courtney McCotter, Volleyball and Basketball, Class of 2007.  Earned four letters in Volleyball.  Three-Times All-City, Twice All-Conference and All-Region.  All-State in 2006 & 2007.  Twice Academic All-State.  Team Captain, MVP and Most Competitive Award Winner.  Three letters in Basketball. Twice All-City & All-Conference.  Team Captain & MVP.  1st All-Time in Single Season and Career Blocked Shots.   LHS Female Scholar Athlete, 2007 & Detroit Free Press Scholar Athlete.   3.98 GPA.    Four letters in Volleyball at Grand Valley.   NCAA Semi-Finalist.  Team Captain.  4-Time Academic All-Conference.
     
    Brooke Ruble, Golf, Class of 2006.  Earned four varsity letters.  Four-Times All-City, Three-Times All-Conference and Twice All-State.  1st Team All-State, 2005.   2006 State “Super Team”.  Set LHS Records for 9-Hole Season Average--39.4 and lowest 18 Hole Round – 71.   Three-Times Team Captain.  Led team in scoring for four years.    Played Golf at Western Michigan U.
