Welcome Letter

Hello 2nd Grade Students and Parents!
Welcome! I have been looking forward to the start of the new school year! I am looking forward to our Meet Your Teacher Night so that I can finally meet each of you!
Student Friday Folders will be sent home every Friday, and will contain student work, book orders, office notes, and any important classroom notes for the upcoming weeks. Please make sure students return their folders to school on Monday. To save paper, I will try to email parents as much as possible, including emailing our weekly newsletter.
Homework will not be assigned this year. The 2nd Grade teachers feel our students would benefit more in being able to spend time with their families, play, spend time outside, and get plenty of rest. Please see the Parent Homework Letter link below for more information.
A ‘Responsibility Sheet’ will be sent home only if there is behavior occurring affecting your child’s learning. This is used as a communication piece between you, your child, and myself. Please sign the sheet and return it to school with your child.
Needed SUPPLIES
Some helpful items your child will use this year are:
Friday Folder, Crayons, Markers, Glue Sticks, Pencils, Crayon/Supply Box
Kleenex
Children’s Magazines
Paper Towel
AA batteries
C batteries
We will not need Clorox Wipes...I use a natural cleaner in our room.

Our Snack Policy: Each student brings in their own daily snack provided from home. Please make sure to follow our Healthy Snacks Guidelines when choosing your child's snack. Click on the SMART Snacks Guidelines on the bar to the left for more information.
I also would like to understand your expectations and concerns and would ask that you do not hesitate in approaching or contacting me with any questions or concerns you may have.
