I have been married to Sheri LaDuke Schmidt since 1993, and our daughter Pamela was born in 2001.  I hold a Master of Music degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Western Michigan University.  I am currently pursuing a Master of Educational Leadership degree at WMU.

My hobbies include cooking, eating, and long-distance road cycling.  In my spare time, I read about education reform.  Yep - I'm a nerd!
